PEIL FAOI 6:
Our last and final football session of the outdoor season took place last Sunday. The season, sadly, has ended. ‘Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir,’ we say to all our boys for their great efforts and dedication this year. We hope that you enjoyed learning many new skills and that, most importantly, that you enjoyed being part of a team and being part of The Rock family. Yes, 2025 has been a first stepping stone, le cúnamh Dé, in your long association with the Austin Stack Club. We thank all parents, guardians, grandparents, fans, mentors and all others who have become a great supporting family. Gabhaimid buíochas ó chroí leis na coaches agus leis na volunteers who worked tirelessly and helped in the development of our young stars. Your efforts, your enthusiasm and your dedication have been an inspiration to the juvenile footballers of ‘The Street of Champions.’ Your efforts are appreciated by all. Gabhaimid buíochas speisialta le Tim McMahon agus le Richie Conway dá gcuid tacaíochta leanúnaí. Agus, mar fhocal scoir, we hope that all boys will continue playing and training and having craic with us in 2026! P.S…if any boy was as láthair and didn’t receive his well-deserved attendance medal just let us know. (Brian Ó Donnchú)

The Rock U10 Garry Fernane Cup and John Galvin Cup football finals took place last Sunday morning and what outstanding football was played. Marie Fernane-Griffin was on hand to present the Gary Fernane Cup; and the John Galvin Cup was presented by representatives of the Galvin family. Well done, all! That’s it for this season!
PEIL FAOI U16: Having pipped Na Gaeil…3-12 to 2-12…in the semi-final of the Tralee and St Brendan Districts’ Championship, our U16s faced the might of the John Mitchel Club in the final on Wednesday evening (7pm) in CAHERSLEE. Well done, boys! You gave it your all! Thanks to all who gave their support. Our players worked hard at their training sessions agus iad ag ullmhú for this game as well as for the upcoming Division 2 semi-final v the Dr Croke Club…as our protracted season continues. (Ger Hobbert)
CAID na gCOLÁISTÍ FAOI 19:
(i) The Green CBS boys, having been successful v Mercy Mounthawk in the U19 Colleges Football Competition (Corn an tSúilleabhánaigh), will now challenge St. Brendans, Killarney, in the final; the game will be played after the feasts of Samhain. Good wishes to all and especially to Olivier Lata, Eoin Mangan, Fionnán Ryan and Ronan Carroll. The Green‘n’Gold of The Sem v the Blue‘n’Gold of The Green will vie for the laurels! An Fhaiche Abú!
(ii)(a) In the Munster U19 competition (Corn Uí Mhuirí) The Green had a fine 0-5 victory …2-13 to 0-14…over Coláiste Phádraig, Oileán Ciarraí. The Tralee lads made a good start and scored two goals early in the game. ‘The ‘Island’ lads fought back and the sides were level at half-time…2-5 to 0-11. Ronan Carroll, in his customary number 14 geansaí, scored 0-9 (two 2 ‘orange’ points from play and one from a free). Our club was well-represented by Olivier Lata (cúl báire), Fionnán Ryan (leathchúlaí ar chlé) and Ronan Carroll (lántosach). Olivier Lata, an cúl báire, pulled off a few outstanding saves and Fionnán Ryan was a powerhouse in defence. Imríodh an cluiche i bhFiodh Ros i gCiarraí Láir.
(ii)(b) In another game in the same Corn Uí Mhuirí competition Mercy Mounthawk scored 0-5 in the last 8 minutes to draw level…1-11 to 2-8…with Pobalscoil Chaiseal Mumhan, Contae Thiobraid Árann. B’shin éacht! A.Johnston (5), D.Hobbert (7), Alex Tuohy (8), H.Murphy (9) and Jack Diggin (13) were The Rock representatives. Imríodh an cluiche i Ráth Chaola, Contae Luimnigh. Ní fheadar cén mheánscoil a leagfaidh lámh ar Chorn Uí Mhuirí i mbliana? (Adrienne McLoughlin)
SEANRÁ:
Dochtúir na sláinte is ea codladh! Sea, agus bíonn leigheas sa chodladh, a deirtear. Good footballers need proper sleep to be healthy!

SINSIR NA CARRAIGE:
‘Well done’ to Dara and a chuid fear sinsearach on reaching the county final and commiserations to them on their 0-4 loss to Dingle/Daingean Uí Chúis ar an Domhnach seo caite. We are proud of their commitment to our club and of their great efforts throughout the season. Ní raibh an t-ádh leo ar an lá ach beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach! ‘Well done,’ too, to The Rock’s faithful followers! OUR TEAM:
Their average age is 23….that’s young in football terms!
For 50 mins. they led the way with skilful twists and turns!
With determined play and stylish scores, despite strong wind and rain,
They battled on with might and main and yet…‘twas all in vain!
Our boys…they tried their very best! They gave it all they had!
But the day was with the Dingle men and yet…WE WEREN’T BAD!
P.Geaney scored two handy goals that put us in a fix!
But Dara’s men will rise again and win in ’26!
