PEIL FAOI 15: What a talented group of Under 15 footballers we have this year! We hope to profile this panel between now and when we’ll have the freedom to race up, down and around every square inch of ‘Connolly. This week’s profiles are as follows: (i) Luke Fitzgerald (Lúcás Mac Gearailt) is always our ‘go-man’ in midfield, he has the roving instinct and alertness and stamina of a fox and gives 100% during every game. (ii) Cormac Bastible (Cormac de Bastábla) is known as ‘Mac’ to the U15 football community; he has great natural football ability and has an eagle eye for goal; tá súil an tseabhaic aige. (iii) David Lucid has had a great debut season with The Rock; he has great attitude and can play in various positions; tá sé ag dul i bhfeabhas i gcónaí. (iv) Seán Heaslip is a tall strong athletic defender who is always trying to improve his game; he his very determined in his marking, in his defending and even in his attacking and he never ever gives up; is peileadóir stuama é agus tá croí leoin aige. (v) Jerry Lynch (Diarmuid Ó Loingsigh) is a skilful player and is undoubtedly one of our most accurate forwards; he can twist and turn like a slippery eel and he was the man who scored the point of the year in the K-O’R Pitch in Cnoc Gorm, Ballyrickard, last February. Comment: these boys just like every other boy in the club can’t wait to get out on grass in 2021! WELFARE: Ag obair le daoine óga? It’s mandatory for all GAA coaches, children’s officers and designated liaison persons to complete the GAA Safeguarding 1 – Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course. This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in the welfare of children involved in sport. The Kerry GAA’s Children’s Officer, Bernie Reen, will facilitate a virtual Safeguarding 1 Workshop at 7.30pm on Thursday February 4th. Any club coaches/officers who needs to participate is asked to text his/her name and email address to our club secretary….on 086 1053300….so that numbers of participants can be confirmed.
