UNDER 16 FOOTBALL:
(i) We held a great session on Wednesday evening in our new refurbished home gym in Connolly Park. Progress was made on our strength and conditioning programme. Some of our older under 16s stayed on after the session and took part in the minor team session. Well done, boys!
(ii) On Friday we had a good run out and about in the MTU Astroturf pitch.
(iii) On Sunday we hosted the Ballymac U16s for a pre-season challenge match. Nursing numerous injuries and boys missing due to other sporting commitments we had 23 lads togged out for our first U16 ‘new rules’ fixture. What a success! And it was a very good experience for both teams as we all made a huge effort to tried to adapt to the ‘new game’. Overall, we were happy with the performance and with the attitude of our lads despite the 0-1 defeat.
