THE TRIP TO TIPP: It is hoped that as many supporters as possible will make a big effort to travel to Thurles on Sunday next to support our team on what will be a very special day for our club. Will you travel in a supporters’ bus? Information for those travelling by bus: (i) bus seats must be pre-booked in the Austin Stack Club bar which will be open to take bookings and payments every day until Thursday from 6pm to 8pm; bookings will not be accepted after 8pm on Thursday; (ii) costas: €15 per person and all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult; (iii) the bus will leave the club grounds at 8.30am sharp on Sunday and will travel to Hayes’ Hotel, Thurles, from where the Black’n’Amber Army will march in ‘traditional’ fashion to Semple Stadium….drums will beat, horns will sound and The Rock shout will echo round the Devil’s Bit! (iv) the bus will leave Thurles 30 minutes after the final whistle and will head for home….back to the Austin Stack Club; (v) masks must be worn on the bus.

DELAYED JUVENILE ACTION: The expected start to the 2022 Austin Stack Club juvenile football season will be delayed until the 23rd because of the Munster Club Senior Football Final on Sunday next (16th). We must support Wayne’s Warriors in their efforts to win a 3rd Munster club title for The Street of Champions and a 20th for Kerry. The game will take place in Staid Semple, Durlas Éile, will commence at 1.45pm agus beidh sé le feiceáil ar TG4.
UNDER 7: Football for the Under 7 boys will commence on Sunday week, January 23rd, i Scoil Eoin, Balluamhnach (primary school). Ya Hú! Ag tnúth go mór leis an gcéad seisiún!
UNDER 9: Football for the Under 9 boys will commence on January 23rd (next Sunday week) in Balloonagh Primary School. Great news! Football again….can’t wait!

JUVENILE AGM: A very successful AGM for the JUVENILE section of the club took place on
Tuesday last (11th) in our clubhouse in Connolly Park! The last season’s activities were discussed in detail, plans were made for the upcoming 2022 season, good wishes were expressed for Wayne and his team in their Munster championship adventure and everybody is ready for the juvenile ‘off’ on the 23rd! CRUINNIÚ CINN BHLIANA: The Club AGM (senior section) will take place in our Connolly Park clubooms at 11.30am on Sunday 23rd January. Nominations are invited for all positions on the incoming Executive Committee. If one wishes to nominate a person for an executive position, one must first seek the permission of the person whom they wish to nominate. The names of members of the outgoing Executive Committee may be read on our club website (www.austinstacks.ie). However, as some of The Green boys are on The Rock senior panel, dates may be changed to the 14/15th January for Tralee CBS. The quarter-final matches are as follows: (1) Pobalscoil an Sciobairín v Pobalscoil na Rátha Móire; (2) Tralee CBS (The Green) v Clonakilty CC; (3) Cnoc an tSeabhaic (Mercy Mounthawk) v Hamilton HS, Bandon,; (4) Coláiste Bhréanainn, Cill Airne, v Coláiste na Sceilge. RACE NIGHT: The Austin Stack Club Gala Race Night will be rescheduled when current COVID restrictions will be lifted. That’ll be an opportune time, also, to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our senior football team, id est, when our heroes’ campaign will have come to a successful end.
