AR AIS AR SCOIL:
Good wishes to all our students as they face into another school term and special good wishes to those who are facing big exams! Leanaigí an chomhairle (advice) a thug Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh: ‘dúiseacht le dúthracht ag breacadh an lae’ and just do your best.

The Rock youngsters are ready to roll…and to rock! 2025, here come the boys of The Rock!!
UNDER 10 FOOTBALL:

UNDER 12 FOOTBALL:
Our season will begin on Sunday January 26th….just three Sundays to go! Bígí ag prapáil agus ag ullmhú le haghaidh obair an tséasúir atá romhainn amach.
PEIL FAOI 16:
Monday the 30th January saw us kick off the new football season with an intensive series of tests for each individual player. 27 players, 5 coaches and 7 of the Under 20 team got together in the CBS Gym. ‘Twas a sight to behold! Ní raibh action go dtí é! ‘Well done’ to all involved. We are encouraged by the positive results of the tests and, so, it has been decided that, following the implementation of our training plans, this same series of tests will be carried out again in six weeks. So, boys, keep up the work, put in the solo miles and we’ll be well prepared for the season ahead. Training sessions will commence shortly and, dá bhrí sin, keep an eye out for group messages. We hope to use the CBS Gym and/or the MTU Hall but venues, times and dates are still being organised. Tús tús maith, leath na hoibre!
PEIL FAOI 19:
Two outstanding secondary school football teams from Tralee, and they are among the best in the land, will be in action in the quarter finals of the Munster Championship (Corn Uí Mhuirí) on Wednesday January 15th. Tralee CBS will challenge Coláiste Bhréanainn and Mercy Mounthawk will take on Cork’s Baile an Róistigh. Dhá chluiche suimiúla a bheidh ann! The semi-finals are expected to be played on January 25th and the final has been scheduled for February 8th. Like Connacht GAA secretary, John Prenty, we encourage all our college players to give of their best for their school!
LAOCHRA NA CARRAIGE:
Our sympathies to our seniors who gave of their best v Baile an Doire. They trained and worked so hard for this All-Ireland semi-final and hopes were high but it wasn’t The Rock’s day in Charles Stewart Parnell Park, Dublin, on Saturday last! We’re still proud of our players’ efforts and we look forward to following their progress in Kerry competitions during 2025. Éireoidh An Charraig arís! Panel: Michael Tansley; Colin Griffin, Dylan Ó Cathasaigh (0-2), Joey Nagle (0-1); Armin Heinrich, Jack Ó Sé, Paul O’Sullivan; Mike O’Donnell, Ronan Shanahan; Fiachna Mangan, Greg Horan, Daniel Kirb (0-2); Shane O’Callaghan, Cian Purcell, Paddy Lane (0-2; 1f); Eoghan Carroll, Lúcás Ó Cathasaigh, Dara Ó Briain, Colm de Brún, Jordan Kissane; Joe O’Connor, Donagh Mac Iomhargáin, Brendan O’Sullivan, Barry Shanahan, Seán Quilter, Ben Quilter, Adam Curran, Conor Horan, David Fitzmaurice, Gearóid Mac Gearailt, Cian Ó Duilleáin, Conor Myers, Wayne Guthrie, Noah Townsend, Jack Ó Murchú, Seán Óg Ó Brosnacháin.

MANA: Let our motto be:
dúiseacht le dúthracht ag breacadh an lae….awaken with enthusiasm at the dawn of the day! An Charraig go deo!
THE TRICOLOUR:
Traditional guidelines tell us that the National Flag should only be displayed in public from sunrise to sunset, id est, the flag should be raised and lowered between the hours of dawn and dusk. Does that mean that GAA fields and stadia should not fly the National Flag throughout the night? Would evening/night games under lights be exceptional?
