PEIL na gCOLÁISTÍ FAOI 19A:
(i) A very interesting game in the Munster U19 Corn Uí Mhuirí Competition took place between The Green and Mercy Mounthawk on November 26th. The Green boys, having already qualified to progress further in the Munster championship, were victorious….1-22 to 1-10. We sympathise with the gallant Mounthawk lads as they exit the competition. We are mindful of the many great and exciting games played over the last number of years by the Caherslee school footballers. Those boys in Green‘n’Black were excellent and came close to a Hogan Cup competition victory that would have been I ‘first’ for Tralee! Tralee CBS have finished as leaders in group 3 with 3 wins and they now march on to the quarter finals as a seeded team. Imreoidh siad arís i Mí Eanáir. Good wishes to buachaillí na Faiche agus iad ag prapáil dos na cluichí deireanacha i gComórtas na Mumhan agus leathshúil acu ar Chorn Uí Mhuirí. The Green CBS Rock players: Oilibhéar Lata, Eoin Ó Mongáin, Fionnán Ó Riain (joint-captain le Máirtín Mac Iomhargáin) agus Rónán Ó Cearúill. ÁDH MAITH:
Good wishes to our Ballymac neighbours v Cill na Mallach in their Munster (junior football) final. The name ‘Buttevant’ is believed to have come from the motto of the de Barra family. ‘Butez en avant’ is written on the Barry coat of arms and means ‘strike/kick/push/bash your way forward forward’. Be aware, Ballymac! Agus go n-éirí le peileadóirí sinsearacha an Daingin v Club Naomh Fionnbarra agus le leaideanna idirmheánacha na Gaeltachta v Achadh Bolg ina gcluichí i gCúige Mumhan. Achadh Bolg won Cork’s first hurling All-Ireland in 1890. Kerry won the hurling All-Ireland of 1891.
