MOUNTHAWK – College Football: (i) The Mercy Mounthawk senior team (U19) defeated Coachford College last week in Group 1 of the Corn Uí Mhuirí (Munster Colleges) competition….1-12 to 1-4. A good victory with the following Rockmen on board: Michael Tansley, Pádraig Ó hAllmharáin, Jack Ó Murchú, Ben Ó Murchú, Daniel Ó Ciarba, James Fisher, Paidí Ó Laighin, Noah Townsend. The game took place at the John Mitchel Club grounds. They’ll play against Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne this Friday in their next round. (ii) Next week’s challenge for the Mounthawk boys will be the final of the Corn Uí Shúilleabháin (Kerry Colleges) senior football competition v Coláiste Bréanainn. Guímid gach rath orthu. (iii) The Mounthawk U16½ lads played The Sem in the Dunloe Cup competition and were very very unlucky to lose by a single point….1-5 to 0-9. They now look forward to challenging for The Shield. They have been scheduled to challenge Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh (Bishopstown) this Wednesday (22nd). They’re scheduled to take on Bandon High on Tuesday 28th. (ii) The Green team U16½ were unlucky v The Sem in their quest for the Dunloe Cup (Kerry)….2-14 to 2-9. CAID FAOI 17: Saturday 2nd December is the big celebration day for our minor footballers.
