PEIL FAOI 6: Our U6 lads will have no more football on Sundays until the new season begins. Thanks, boys, for giving us a brilliant season of lovely football. Be practising away at home during the winter months….soloing, hopping, picking and catching….but don’t break mugs, lights or windows! (Ricky Moloney)
PEIL FAOI 8: Our U8 boys had a great morning’s football in Connolly Park last Sunday. The end-of-season finals were played and players gave their very best to win one of the beautiful awards on offer…the Bracker Regan Memorial Cup (Bracker was one of the club’s greats; a road has been named in his honour), the Jimmy Barry Memorial Cup (Jimmy played hurling and football for the club and was a great administrator), the Paddy Drummond Memorial Cup (Paddy also played for the club and acted as administrator; he even spent time in ‘Tintown’ in The Curragh!) or the Cecil O’Connor Memorial Shield (Cecil was a lovely lad and a promising hurler and footballer; he left us and went to his heavenly reward when only in primary school). Beannacht Dé leo uile. The enthusiasm, diligence, industry and excitement of the U8 boys was, indeed, a joy to behold. These boys are the future Armin Heinrichs, Greg Horans, Paddy Lanes, Joe O’Connors and Dylan Ó Cathasaighs! ‘Well done’ to the captains of the various teams: Luke Breathnach, Fionnán Ó Cearúill, Regan Ó Cearúill and Robbie Mac Uiginn. The work of helpers, parents and mentors is gratefully appreciated. Coaches: Paddy Carmody, Kevin O’Leary, Ricky Moloney, Paul Healy, Paul Walsh, Pa McCarthy, Brian O’Donoghue. Football action has ceased for this season. What a great year of football these boys have had and what enjoyment they got from their playing! They end the 2026 season having made some nice friendly footballing aquaintances, having lovely footballing memories and being part of The Rock family! Clann na Carraige go deo! (Ricky Moloney, N.Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh)
UNDER 9/10: We hope to see all our U9 and U10 boys on Sunday morning next (18th) for the 3rd round of the Gary Fernane Cup and John Galvin Cup competitions. Leading into Sunday’s games, and after two rounds, the table is as follows…Rockies: 4; Black‘n’Amber: 2; Street of Champions: 2; The Rock: 0. PEIL FAOI 11/12: Our U121 boys, after a great season, are taking their winter off-season break. Every chance you get, boys, practise and kick football on your own or with a friend. The closed season is a good time to perfect your skills….the pick-up, the solo, free-taking, the very important penalty-kicking practice! (Colin Ó Tíocháin)
PEIL FAOI 14: We look forward to the U14 medal presentation evening. Medals for the County League B and Central League A games will be presented. Oíche mhór a bheidh ann! (Jonathan Magnier)
PEIL FAOI 16: Our U16 lads are finished their season’s activity. They had a good year, played great football and enjoyed themselves. Do plenty practice on your own or with a friend or two, boys, during the winter. Thanks to all parents, helpers and mentors for your year’s dedication. Bheadh sibh molta dá mbeimis inár dtost! Up The Rock! (Gearóid Ó Tíocháin)
