Stacks are through to the Quarter/Final with a home venue next weekend against Killarney Legion with the date and time to be confirmed.
The home side took the lead in the first minute with a pointed free from Gavan O’Grady but within four minutes Stacks were back in front with a Cian Purcell goal and a Paddy Lane point.
Armin Heinrich had Stacks second goal when Colm Browne’s shot hit the post and Armin was first to react and hit a low shot to the corner of the net and within two minutes Cian had his second goal after good work by Joe O’Connor.
Then between the 16th to the 18th we had two Gavan O’Grady points and a Paddy Lane point all from play.Liam Roche goaled for the home side a minute later after Stacks failed to clear their lines.
Donagh McKivergan from play,Paddy Lane and Gavan O’Grady from frees made it a seven point game.
Cian Purcell completed his hat trick from a pass by Paddy Lane and Stacks added three more points from Armin,Cian and Daniel and deep in injury time Caolim Teahan pointed a free for the home side.
Half Time; Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-5 Austin Stacks 4-8
The home side had the first three points of the second half from a Caolim Teahan free,Jack Brosnan from play and a Gavan O’Grady free to leave three goals between the sides.
Paddy Lane repliied with two points in a row from play midway through the half and a minute later Caolim Teahan had his third point of the game from a free.
Michael Tansley from a 45 had his first ever championship point on twenty minutes and it would be nine minutes later before we had the next score from a Paddy Lane free.
Jack Brosnan with his second point from play had the home sides last score and with time up Daniel Kirby kicked a fine point to leave Stacks comfortable winners.
The last Stacks man to score three goals in a Championship match was Paudie McCarthy in 1970 v Kenmare.Paudie was also wearing the No15 jersey.
