Please note the following important points in relation to the GAA injury benefit fund;
- The Club does not cover or reimburse any medical costs under any circumstances.
- All playing members contribute to the Injury Benefit Scheme, see summary document for more details.
Please also note the following;
- This is a contingency fund for injured players where Private health Insurance or the Public System have not covered costs/loss of earnings for injuries sustained during participation in sanctioned GAA games or Training.
- Onus is now the Member/Parent/Guardian to notify the scheme of any injury sustained that has or may give rise to a need to claim from the fund.
- Injuries must be notified by the member/parent/guardian on the Foireann system within 60 days of the injury occurring. GAA appointed Administrators from Allianz will deal directly with the Member/Parent/Guardian. (link to foireann – https://gmssupport.zendesk.
com/hc/en-gb/articles/ 20305708911388-Submitting-an- Injury-Notification-Players) - There is €100 excess applying to each claim (i.e. Fund won’t pay the first €100 of costs sustained.
- The fund WILL NOT cover physio costs unless same are required post-surgery
Thanks and regards
