WHAT’S INVOLVED?

1. A personal and family history questionnaire.
2. A physical examination with a medical doctor.
3. 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG).
The Dillon Quirke Foundation is a registered charity in Ireland. Its mission is to raise awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and fund widespread cardiac screening for young people aged 12 to 18 who are involved in sports.
On average, SADS claims 100 young lives in Ireland each year. By identifying heart conditions early through cardiac screening, the foundation aims to prevent SADS-related deaths.
The foundation was established in honour of Dillon Quirke, who tragically collapsed during a hurling match and passed away from SADS in August 2022 at Semple Stadium Thurles.
Dillon’s family, including his parents Dan and Hazel, along with his sisters Kellie and Shannon, set up the foundation. Their ambitious goal is to provide free life-saving cardiac screenings for 10,000 young people annually, ultimately saving lives together.
