Austin Stacks 0-11 Dingle 2-8
A bad week for our juvenile footballers didn’t get any better at Austin Stack Park on Friday evening as our County champions under 14 team went down to determined Dingle outfit. Playing with a strong wind in the first half we raced into a five point to nil lead with two fine points from the left boot of Calvin Foley catching the eye. Dingle responded with three points but we finished the half strongly with a swerving effort from Mike O’Donnell putting us 9-3 ahead at the break, with Rory Hill the star rockman at the back. This was in truth not a significant lead as Dingle would be aided by the breeze in the second half and they grew in confidence throughout and two second half goals were decisive to the outcome. We did have a few goal chances in this period but squandered each of them and were made pay by Dingle who held on for a deserved victory.
