AUSTIN STACKS 2-11 KERINS O’RAHILLY’S 2-6
THE John Kissane Cup will spend the summer months in the Rock following Austin Stacks victory over local rivals Kerins O’Rahilly’s in the Lee Strand sponsored Tralee Town Board Senior Football League 2009 final at Connolly Park on Sunday morning.
Austin Stacks were in cruise control throughout, despite giving away the midfield advantage.
Stacks goals came in the first half, Tommy Costello grabbed the first in the fifth minute, while Darragh Long blasted the second in the 21st minute.
Declan Quill pulled a goal back for O’Rahilly’s before half-time but it was Stacks who led by 2-5 to 1-3 at the short whistle.
Barry John Walsh scored a second half goal for O’Rahilly’s.
The game was well handled by Scartaglin referee Jim O’Connor, who brought along his own umpires for good measure.
