Andrew Dinneen and his partner Fiona O’Donoghue claimed the “Strictly Come Dancing” prize in front of packed Brandon Hotel conference centre on Friday evening last. Andrew, more recognisable as the sombrero wearing “El Chico-The Rocky” belied his relative inexperience on the dance floor with a scintillating performance. The night was an absolute triumph for the club and particularly Chairman Aidan O’Connor who drove this club fundraiser relentlessly from its inception. An estimated crowd of 1000 people packed the arena and weren’t disappointed as the evening unfolded into one of the most memorable in the recent history of the club.
