Senior Games:
Glenflesk 1-21
Austin Stacks 1-18
Our refixed opening round of the county league ended in defeat after a rusty display by the
senior team. We played against the breeze in the first half and trailed from the first minute of
the game. At half time Glenflesk were 0-14 to 0-8 ahead and overall we would have been
happy enough having been second best, with the wind advantage to come in the second half.
We had a few brilliant saves from Michael to thank for keeping us in touch aswell as very
accurate kicking from Conor Horan who gave an exhibition of point scoring throughout. Jack
Murphy also caught the eye rampaging up the field in the first period, kicking a fine score
and setting up a few more.
Darragh and management will have been happy enough with the determination and
application of the team in the second half, but we struggled on both kickouts and they landed
the killer blow with a fine breakaway goal with 10 minutes to go, putting us 7 down. We
never got closer than 3 down and despite a spirited charge towards the end we couldn’t reel
them in and they deserved to take the two points. Ryan O’ Driscoll looked dangerous all
game in the corner and supplied 3 fine points and a rocket Cian Purcell penalty gave us a
glimmer of hope as the clock ticked down but we came up short and good luck to Wayne,
Jonathan and their team for the season. Next up a home game against Kilcummin this
weekend in Round 2.

Hogan Cup
Commiserations to the Green who came so close to Hogan Cup glory in Croke Park on St
Patricks Day. They went out on their shields and well done in particular to the rockies
involved Olivier, Fionán, Ronan and Eoin. A fantastic experience and a brilliant season,
onwards and upwards.
Kerry players:
Well done to Dylan, Armin and Joe who have had outstanding League campaigns with Kerry
and have the League Final to look forward to this Sunday. Great also to have Aoife Dillane
playing so well and who has been ever present for the Kerry ladies although they had a
disappointing result in Armagh this weekend.
