CAID FAOI 6: Our U6 boys will have another memorable morning of football on Sunday morning next, 7th June, at 10.55am in the CAHERSLEE field. Feicfimid i gCathair Sailí sibh, a bhuachaillí, agus beidh fáilte roimh chách!

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) It’ll be all go again for the U10s at 10.50am on Sunday morning next, 7th June, in CAHERSLEE. Don’t forget your gumshield…chun na fiacla a chosaint. All welcome! (ii) U10 GoGames news: this week’s opposition in Connolly Park on Wednesday 3ú Meitheamh is Rathmore; the postponed challenge v Ardfert hasn’t been forgotten and will be rescheduled. (Colm Ó Mongáin)
PEIL FAOI 11/12: Our U12 younger and older teams welcomed An Baile Dubh (Ballyduff) to Connolly Park on Sunday evening last….and both our sides had to face tough opposition though they didn’t fear their challengers. Yes, they did indeed come up against two physically strong teams and that resulted in two very competitive matches throughout the hour. Both our teams lined out against the wind in the first half and were put under early pressure but they showed great character, strong determination and the ability to claw back significant leads in the second half. It was very encouraging to see these young Rock boys stick to their own style of football, to continue to work the ball and to fight hard for each other….nach ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine! Both teams are developing and there are clear signs of improvement in both groups week-on-week. The work rate across the panel was excellent and that resilience will stand to them as the season goes on.
Players and mentors are now eagerly looking forward to travelling to Killarney on Sunday next to challenge the Legion Club.…and, gan dabht ar domhan, to continue building! (The Legion pitch is shortly to be named Páirc Uí Chollata in memory of Kerry’s great goalie, Johnny Culloty. Do you know that Johnny won six All-Ireland medals in football and one in Junior Hurling?) Our U12 Black‘n’Amber stalwarts continue to grow and develop into good footballers…their future is bright! And it only seems like yesterday that Daniel Kirby, Paddy Lane, Ronan Carroll and Alex Touhy were playing these U12 matches….and developing their wonderful Gaelic football skills! They’ve U20 All-Ireland medals in their pockets this week after that fantastic victory over the boys from Eoghan’s Country…Tír Eoghain…last weekend! Moladh go deo leo! Among our present U12 stars are Cian Canty, Marcus Henry, Kyle Lucid, Rian Hogan, Conor Long, Tadhg McElligott, Ruairí Magnier, Darragh Maguire, Harry Brassil and Tadhg Nolan. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige! (Colin Ó Tíocháin)
CAID FAOI 14: Our U14 boys are easing off just a little after their great feats in reaching County League finals in two divisions. Our B boys (Division 12) gained the upper hand in aghaidh na nGael i Roinn 12 and the A lads (Division 1) were a little unlucky in aghaidh na Gaeltachta. These boys now look forward to their next football challenges. Upwards and onwards for The Rock U14s. (Seanachán Magnier)

It recommences on Thursday and will continue on Monday June 8th; the final round is expected to take place on June 11th. Faraor géar, we were narrowly defeated by Legion in Round 1 but we’ll plod on agus dóchas mór inár gcroí!!
