SCÓR na bPÁISTÍ: The Scór na bPáistí competitions will take place in Dúchas, MTU, at 4.30pm on Saturday next, 28th February. Why not go along and see what it’s all about! Primary boys/girls who’d like to represent The Rock Club in are asked NOW. Scór na bPáistí is a series of competitions for primary school pupils faoi chúram agus faoi choimirce CLG. Categories: solo singing, recitation or storytelling, ballad group (with 3, 4 or 5 singers…2 songs in harmony), set dance, figure dance, music group (with 2, 3, 4 or 5 musicians…2 tunes), sketch or mime (léiriú stairiúil…between 3 and 8 people) and table quiz (team of 4). The quiz may be on a separate date! The Rules of Scór can be read on-line. Our club could enter THREE items in each category as we are ‘three clubs’…football, hurling and ladies.

U10 FOOTBALL for FUN: The Under 9/10 boys will continue their football activity at 10.50am on Sunday next (1ú Márta) at The Green CBS, unless the weather disappoints us (and if the weather is too unpleasant to play you’ll get a text). Please, le do thoil, bring your gum shield, warm gear, €2 for hire of venue and pray for fine weather. Just come along and be part of The Rock. Fáilte roimh chách. PEIL FAOI 15: Our U15s will travel to Cork on Sunday (28th) to play in the Mick O’Brien Tournament. This great tournament, like our own Lee Strand Tournament, offers a great opportunity to get into preparation mode for the Féile. THE GREEN CBS: (i) We say ‘well played’ to Conor Maguire, Dylan McEvoy and their Green U15 teammates who took on Coláiste Fhlannáin, Inis, and gave of their best in the Br Taft Cup Munster Colleges’ semi-final in Rathkeale on Wednesday (25th). Mo cheol sibh, a leaideanna na Faiche! (ii) Good wishes to The Green U19 Munster Champions in their next encounters…the A footballers (Corn an Bhráthar Liam Ó Muirí) will challenge St Gerald’s College, Castlebar, County Mayo, on Saturday. The B hurlers (Corn Thomáis Mhic Choilm) are in preparation for their All-Ireland semi-final. Gach ádh oraibh, a lucht na caide agus a lucht na gcamán.
MINOR FOOTBALL: Last weekend’s games, AdeS A v Na Gaeil and AdeS B v K-O’R, were postponed. On Sunday next we play our first Club Championship game v Cill Orglan. Town League fixtures still to be played…Team A v Ardfert, Na Gaeil and Cnoc na hEaglaise; Foireann B v Ballymac and the Kerins-O’Rahilly and John Mitchel Clubs.
