Club Aibhistín de Staic – Juvenile [Boys] Notes – Monday July 13th

July 13, 2026 By Maurice MacNamara

PEIL FAOI 6:
(i) Our U6 Academy boys will be on the go on Thursday at 6pm. (ii) More football fun on Sunday morning next, 19th July. (iii) What U6 skill was shown at half-time in the Austin Stack Club v Legion (senior County League) game as our boys U6 lads gave a mighty display of their football skills on the pitch. It was great to see them all enjoying their football and showing the team skills and the football skills that they have been learning and practicing at the Academy….stars of the future, gan dabhat ar domhan! ‘Well done’ to all….players and mentors! (N.Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh)
PEIL FAOI 8/9:
We’ll have football once again on Thursday (16th) at 6pm and on Sunday morning next, 19th  July, at 10.50am.
PEIL FAOI 10/11:
(i) More football fun on Sunday morning next, 23rd  July, at 10.50am! (ii) And still more football-for-fun will take place on Thursday evening (16th) at 6.15p in Connolly Park…’see you all then, boys!  (iii) (iv) The older U11 boys (born in 2016) played in the Munster Council U11 invitational blitz in Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday last (14th) and what an exciting experience it was for them; the played well, they challenged well and they scored well; they enjoyed visiting the dressing rooms where our GAA heroes tog out….and what heroes we had v Dublin last Sunday….including our own Joe, Dylan and Armin! (v) Our U10 boys will play in the Milltown U10 blitz on Sunday next, 19th July. (vi) The Fossa U10 blitz will take place on Sunday 16th August. (vii) The Salthill blitz will take place on Saturday 12th September….we look forward to a nice trip to Galway. (viii) Other GoGames yet to be played: (a) Na Crócaigh v AdeS (as baile; away); (b) AdeS (ag baile) v B/mac; (c) Ráth Mhór v AdeS (as baile); (d) AdeS (ag baile) v Ard Fhearta. (Colm Ó Mongáin)
CAID FAOI 12:
(i) Last weekend our U12s welcomed the Kerins-O’Rahilly Club boys to Connolly Park on a very very warm day….lá breá brothallach…and played two competitive games. Our older group produced a strong performance in a physical contest and our younger team, despite being short a number of players, gave everything and battled right to the final whistle. While results can vary from week to week, the real focus at U12 level is on player development and the coaches are delighted with the improvement being shown across the entire panel. The boys continue to develop their skills, game awareness and teamwork and their effort and commitment at training is clearly transferring onto the pitch. (ii) On Saturday gone by, our U11s travelled to Naas GAA for a prestigious tournament and produced some of their best football of the season. Throughout the day they played with tremendous skill, determination and teamwork, representing the Austin Stack Club with great pride. Although they were narrowly defeated in the final, the disappointment was short-lived as the coaches reflected on an outstanding day of football and the remarkable progress made by the group.
A huge ‘well done’ to all players. Their attitude, commitment and support for one another continues to embody the values of our club and we look forward to the weeks ahead with great confidence. We’re very very proud of our lads’ great efforts so far this season and we look forward to the next U12 challenge. Ar aghaidh linn, a bhuachaillí óga na Carraige! (Cóilín Ó Tíocháin)
CAID FAOI 14:
The Rock U14s are preparing for their upcoming challenges…ag ullmhú do na cluichí dúshlánacha atá romhainn!! U14 training: 7pm on Tuesday and 11am on Sundays. We’re motoring in the fine weather! (Jonathan Magnier)
OUR DAY IN DERRY: FÉILE PEILE na nÓG:
We have great memories of our long trip to Féile Peile na nÓg in Doire Cholmcille. We travelled through 10+ counties, saw beautiful places and had wonderful experiences, including a visit to the Connacht Centre of Excellence; we played against some of the best U14 Division 1 teams in Ireland. Our highlight, gan dabht, was the privilege of playing at the Derry Centre of Excellence, Abhainn Bheag, Dungiven. The 48-acre facility is just off the Derry-Belfast Motorway, the A6; it is the primary administrative headquarters of the Derry County Board and includes a modern 2,700-seat covered spectator stand and it has multiple grass and 4G floodlit playing fields which are used for matches and for regional academy training camps. Cuimhní cinn a bheidh againn go deo! Well done, boys and mentors! You are among the best! The Rock Féile Peile na nÓg panel: Shea Horan (an captaen), Oran O’Regan, Bruno Gryzbowski, Cameron Patterson, Conor Maguire, Ben Smith, Hugh Brassil, Tadhg O’Regan, Dylan McEvoy, Ben O’Leary, Billy Kirby, Tadhg Lucey, Michael Carmody, Blake Bowler, Oisín Horan, Jamie McEvoy, Jamie Quillinan, Ethan Cushen, Callum Griffin, Conor McCannon, Darragh Moriarty, Gerard Teahon, Harry Maguire, Shane Carey, Tadhg Counihan, Harry Healy. (Gearóid Ó Tíocháin a chuir peann le pár)
MINORS: We played a good Laune Rangers side in our 2nd County League game and acquitted ourselves well despite being heavily depleted because of holidays and of injures to key players. For our final league game we travelled to Páirc Uí Chullota i nDoirín, Cill Airne,  to challenge Legion last Monday and, arís eile, our lads aquitted themselves well. Our team: Conor O’Regan, Fionn Cotter, Darragh Lyons, Oran O’Donoghue, Mark Riordan, Ben Litchfield, David Hobbert, Alex Touhy, Paddy Lucid, Jayden Moriarty, Harry Murphy, Jack Diggin, Jay Sweeney, Danny Lane, Jake Carmody. Subs: Haulie Cotter, Joe Barry, Denis Brassil, Nathan O’Conner, Sean Clifford. (T.McMahon)

Thugamar faoi Na Dubs gan scáth gan eagla! We challenge The Dubs without fear or shame? Bhí an cluiche idir dhá cheann na meá ar feadh tamaill mhaith! The game was in the balance for a good ‘tamall’! An mbeimid i ndán do Mhaigh Eo? Will we be able for Mayo? An dtiocfaidh ‘Sam’ chugainn i mbliana? Will ‘Sam’ come to us this year?
