PEIL FAOI 11/12: We welcomed Kilcummin to Connolly Park on Sunday evening last and both clubs played two very competitive and hard-fought matches. Our lads performed strongly and effectively in both games and, ní nach ionadh, came out on top…dhá bhua iontacha! (i) The older group showed great character and responded brilliantly after having fallen well behind early on. They grew into the game with some excellent movement off-the-ball, really tightening things up in defence and showing great composure and excellent teamwork throughout. Standout performances came from Cian Canty, Marcus Henry, Kyle Lucid, Rian Hogan and Conor Long. (ii) The younger group also delivered and gave a very encouraging performance, displaying clear evidence of the work being done at training and, more so, at home. The determined defence tackled with great discipline, the hard-working midfielders worked tirelessly and used the ball well and the alert forwards took their chances some really excellent score were taken. Tadhg McElligott was outstanding in goal, pulling off some excellent saves and showing great confidence with his kick-outs. We had strong performances also by Ruairí Magnier, Darragh Maguire, Harry Brassil and Tadhg Nolan.
Overall, the coaches are happy with the progress being made right across the panel, with improvement evident game-on-game! The attitude, effort and willingness to learn continues to be the real strength of this group. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige! (Colin Ó Tíocháin)

And, now that The Rock has qualified, our boys carry the county ‘mantle’ on their shoulders! The panellists began their training in earnest in Connolly Park on Sunday morning last and, buíochas le Dia, what a beautiful day to make a start! Tús maith, leath na hoibre! Best of luck with the preparations, lads!
