PEIL FAOI 10: (i) ‘Well done’ to the boys (and to their parents who brought them) who were at The Rock v An Daingean game on Saturday. Well played, boys! Maith sibh. ‘Well done’ also to St John, Ricky and their meitheal oibre. Thanks to those who contributed to the Dillion Quirke Foundation (Sudden Death Syndrome) collection. (ii) At 10.50am on Sunday morning next (24h May) we’ll be in action once again in Caherslee. Don’t forget to bring your gumshield. All newcomers welcome! Unfortunately, the bad weather ‘called off’ last Sunday’s football sessions. (Colm Ó Mongáin)
PEIL FAOI 11/12: Both our club U12 teams lined out against Laune Rangers in very tough conditions on Sunday last; heavy rain and cold throughout the hour made it a real test for all involved. Despite the weather, the attitude from every player was excellent. Pure Rock spirit! The focus in both games was very much on development and it was great to see progress being made. The older group showed real confidence on the ball, linking play well and taking their opportunities with composure. The younger group showed great determination, working hard for each other and staying positive right to the end. What stood out most was the continued improvement across the panel. There’s clear evidence that the boys are putting in work outside of training, with skills sharper and decision-making improving week by week. A really encouraging evening overall with great effort and attitude shown by all players in difficult conditions. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige! (Colin Ó Tíocháin)
