Club Aibhistín de Staic – Juvenile [Boys] Notes – May 18th

May 18, 2026 By Maurice MacNamara

PEIL FAOI 6: Our U6 boys will have another exciting morning of skillful football on Sunday next, 24th May, at 10.55am in Caherslee. ‘Hoping to see you all, boys! Fáilte is fiche roimh chách!

PEIL FAOI 8: Our outdoor action will continue on Sunday next, 24th May, at 10.55am in Caherslee. New players welcome! (Naomh Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh)

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) ‘Well done’ to the boys (and to their parents who brought them) who were at The Rock v An Daingean game on Saturday. Well played, boys! You showed great skill and spirit on the field of play and in front of an appreciative ‘audience;’ our club is very proud of your well-disciplined guard-of-honour do pheileadóirí an Daingin. Maith sibh. ‘Well done’ also to St John, Ricky and their meitheal oibre. Thanks to those who contributed to the Dillion Quirke Foundation (Sudden Death Syndrome) collection. (ii) At 10.50am on Sunday morning next (24h May) we’ll be in action once again in Caherslee. Don’t forget to bring your gumshield. All newcomers welcome! Unfortunately, the bad weather ‘called off’ last Sunday’s football sessions. (iii) U10 GoGames news: Ardfert have been scheduled to come to Connolly Park ar an gCéadaoin (20ú Bealtaine)….An Charraig v Ard Fhearta; imreoimid v An Ráth Mhór ag baile ar an 3ú Meitheamh. (Colm Ó Mongáin)

PEIL FAOI 11/12: Both our club U12 teams lined out against Laune Rangers in very tough conditions on Sunday last; heavy rain and cold throughout the hour made it a real test for all involved. Despite the weather, the attitude from every player was excellent. Pure Rock spirit! The focus in both games was very much on development and it was great to see progress being made. The older group showed real confidence on the ball, linking play well and taking their opportunities with composure. The younger group showed great determination, working hard for each other and staying positive right to the end. What stood out most was the continued improvement across the panel. There’s clear evidence that the boys are putting in work outside of training, with skills sharper and decision-making improving week by week. A really encouraging evening overall with great effort and attitude shown by all players in difficult conditions. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige! (Colin Ó Tíocháin)

CAID FAOI 14: Our big football fixtures: (i) On Thursday 21st May, our B boys (Division 12) take on Na Gaeil in the final of the County League. Foireann B Abú! (ii) The A lads (Division 1) were scheduled to challenge the Gaeltacht on Tuesday (19th May) in their final. Foireann A Abú! (Seanachán Magnier)

CAID FAOI 15/16: (i) Our U15 boys who’ll represent The Kingdom at Féile Pheil na nÓg are still basking in the glory, are working even harder at their game and are looking to their upcoming local challenges. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí, agus go n-éirí go geal libh i nDoire Cholmcille i Mí an Mheithimh! (ii) Continued good wishes to our own David, Mark and Jayden who are part of the North Kerry development panel.  An Charraig Abú! (Mícheál Ó hÓdhráin)

MINORS: (i) ‘Well done’ to our minors v Waterville/Dromid in the Central League semi-final. Well played, boys! (ii) Our club minors will participate in the County Board U17 ten-a-side competition over the next few weeks, beginning on Monday next May 25th. (iii) We are in Division 1 of the County League and we will be playing against Legion, Laune Rangers and Rathmore. (iii) Comhghairdeachas le Danny Lane and Eoin Mangan who played very important roles with the Kerry minor team v Cork…they were mighty! (iv) Congratulations to Alex Touhy who was part of the Kerry U20 squad v The Rossies…bua iontach! An Dubh‘s’Ómrach Abú!  (Tim Mac Mathúna)

THE GREEN: Last week’s Tralee CBS Under 15 Super Nines was a great success. ‘Well done,’ The Green!

CAD IS GoGames ANN? What are GoGames? GoGames are modified small-sided games of hurling, camogie and Gaelic football that are organised by GAA club mentors for young people aged 7 to 12; the focus in these wonderful series of games is on participation, skill development and enjoyment rather than competition agus, gan agó, baineann na daoine óga sult mór as na cluichí.
