The boys worked hard and seemed to enjoy their training…. not a single dissenting voice was recorded for the whole hour and a quarter on the lonely Banna Strand! Over a score hardy Rock stars sampled the fresh salt air wafting in from the Muclach (Rock of Pigs) agus Oileán na mBairneach (Island of Limpets)! Gach ádh oraibh, a leaideanna! THE GREEN CBS: (i) Congratulations to The Green CBS boys on their truly outstanding U19B Munster Final HURLING victory v Bishopstown, in Banteer, on Saturday last…3-21 v 0-17. What a performance by hurlers representing 7 Kerry hurling clubs, including 4 Tralee hurlers. Sea, éacht agus mórghaisce! Comhghairdeachas, leis, leis an mBainistíocht.
(ii) We say ‘go n-éirí go geal libh’ to The Green’s Under 19A footballers who’ll face Ardscoil na mBráithre, Cluain Meala, Contae Thiobraid Árann, in the TUS (Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta na Sionainne) Munster Colleges’ Final. The victors’ joint-captains will be presented with prestigious Corn Uí Mhuirí. Imreofar an cluiche i Mala i gCorcaigh ag 1pm ar an Satharn beag seo, 7ú Feabhra. Sideline/terrace support would be good for the players! (Extra time will be played …if necessary!) The Rock representatives will be Oilibhéar Lata (cúl báire), Fionnán Ó Riain (leathchúlaí deas), Rónán Ó Cearúill (leatosaí clé) and Eoin Ó Mongáin (fear ionaid); special good wishes to Máirtín Mac Iomhargáin. MINOR FOOTBALL: An explosive start has been made by our our minors and their second session of ’26 will take place on Tuesday next, 10th February. We are awaiting the Town League fixtures. It is hoped that we’ll be able to field TWO MINOR TEAMs this season. So, everyone is encouraged to come along. Everybody welcome. Spread the word. Polish the boots. Expect text.
