Club Aibhistín de Staic – Juvenile [Boys] Notes – 15th June

June 16, 2026 By Maurice MacNamara

PEIL FAOI 6/8: (i) Our U6 and U8 Academy boys will be on the go on Thursday at 6pm. (ii) They’ll have another memorable morning of football on Sunday morning next, 21st June, at 10.55am in the CAHERSLEE field. Feicfimid i gCathair Sailí sibh, a bhuachaillí, agus beidh fáilte roimh chách, arsa Naomh Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh.

PEIL FAOI 9: (i) What a most enjoyable time we had with the boys of Club Bhóthar na Trá, Gaillimh, on Saturday last. Football and fun was the order of the day, arsa Naomh Eoin Ó hÉigeartaigh. (ii) Next Sunday again, boys, at 10.55am in the CAHERSLEE field.

PEIL FAOI 10: (i) We hope to see all the U10s at 10.50am on Sunday morning next, 21st June, in CAHERSLEE. Don’t forget your gumshield…chun aire a thabhairt dos na fiacla gleoite deasa bána. All welcome! (ii) We’ll have a session on Thursday at 6.15pm in Connolly Park. ‘See you then, boys, a deir Colm Ó Mongáin.

CAID FAOI 11/12: (i) Our older boys did very well overall in the 2026 Nass Tournament.
We played a strong Salthill-Cnoc na Cathrach team in the first game, having just hopped off the bus. We started very well and were five points up at half-time, having played really good football and having moved the ball well. In the second half, i gcoinne na gaoithe, we probably carried the ball into contact too much instead of sticking to what was working; and, faraoir, we did not take a few chances that were there! The Galway side was a big physical side and we fought them well. We got back into a good rhythm but we ended up losing by a mere two points. However, there was a lot to like about how we played! (ii) The second game was against St Loman’s from Mullingar and it was nip-and-tuck the whole way. They went two ahead at one stage but the response from our boys was excellent. They kept working, stayed together and finished strongly, getting three points in the last few minutes to win it by one. We were back out on the pitch again very quickly for game three v Naas White, only about a four minute break after previous match and the sun really came out as one of them started. It turned very hot and made the going tough but the lads just kept going to the end. However, we lost by five against a much bigger side.
Before the final we had a proper reset and two coaches went through the learnings from the three games with the boys. The key thing was every one of the lads listened and applied it straight away. As it worked out, we drew Naas White again in the final and one could see a great difference. The boys were far better overall and won the final by four.
What stood out throughout day was our players’ attitude and how hard they worked for each other. They were up against bigger, stronger teams but never backed away from the challenge…most Rock teams don’t…and they kept trying to play football the right way. The coaches are incredibly proud of the boys today, both in how they played and how they carried themselves. That goes for the full group across the 2014 and 2015 panels. We could not ask for a better group with whom to be involved. (iii) Our 2015 boys will have a similar tournament later in season. Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí na Carraige, bhí sibh tharr barr, a deir Cóilín Ó Tíocháin.

PEIL FAOI 14: Our U14 boys are looking forward to their next football challenges. Ar aghaidh le buachaillí na Carraige, a deir Seanachán Magnier.

FÉILE FAOI 15: (i) Our U15 boys are now in serious training for their Féile Peile na nÓg games in Doire Cholmcille (Derry). (ii) Thanks to all who continue to financially support the Derry excursion fund. How exciting for a club juvenile team to qualify for National Féile Peile, Féile na nÓg. Of course, it is a very expensive undertaking for club. We have been lucky enough to have some very talented squads over the years and have gone to Féile many times but the cost of making the trip (ó thuaidh go Doire) and ensuring that it will be one of our players’ greatest experiences in their young sporting life is very costly. We would not be able to do this without our club and team sponsors who deserve our heartfelt and sincere thanks. A sponsors’ night was held to honour their contribution agus bhí Adrienne ann lena ceamara (see her pictures on our web). Our boys for Derry: Odhrán Ó Riagáin, Bruno Gryzbowski, Cameron Patterson, Conchúr Maghuidhir, Ben Mac Gabhann, Aodh Ó Breasail, Tadhg Ó Riagáin, Sé Ó hOdhráin, Dylan Mac Aodhbhuí, Ben Ó Laoire, Liam Ó Ciarba, Tadhg Luasaigh, Mícheál Ó Cearmada, Blake Buidhléir, Oisín Ó hOdhráin, Séimí Mac Aodhbhuí, Séimí Ó Cuilleanáin, Ethan Cushen, Callum Ó Grífín, Conchúr Mac Anann, Dara Ó Muircheartaigh, Gearóid Ó Tíocháin, Anraoi Maghuidhir, Seán Ó Ciara, Cian Ó Cróinín.

CAID FAOI 16: Continued good wishes to our own David, Mark and Jayden who are part of the North Kerry development panel.

AN ARDTEIST: Further good wishes, ádh mór agus cabhair Dé to all who are coming to the end of their examinations. Bhur seacht ndícheall, a leaideanna!!

MINORS: (i) An Comórtas Super 10 do na leaideanna Faoi 18 fós ar siúl! (ii) We are looking forward to putting the leabhair scoile away for a rest and to the beginning of the County League which will begin on June 29th (Dé Luain). We’ll travel to the Pearse Brothers Club, Cnoc na hEaglaise, for Round 1. On the following week, we’ll be at home to Laune Rangers; and our final group game will be against Killarney Legion.

CAID FAOI 21: We look forward to our U20 boys challenging East Kerry on June 23rd. A great match expected and support would be worth a few points! An Dubh‘s’Ómrach Abú!
