Tralee St Brendans Town League R3
Austin Stacks 3-19
Ballymac 1-8
Stacks got back to winning ways in terrible conditions in Connolly Park on Sunday
morning with a good run out against Ballymac. After welcoming the newly crowned
All Ireland Junior Champions onto the pitch with a guard of honor, we were
dominant from the throw in with midfield partnership Colm Browne and Luke Casey
excellent from the start. The full forward line of Noah Townsend, Cian Purcell and
Conor Myers were very dangerous and combined for 2-6 in the first half, capitalizing
on a steady supply of quality ball from the likes of Jack O Shea, Eoin Carroll and
Ronan Shanahan out the pitch.
We led by 2-11 to 0-6 at half time and made a raft of changes at half time without a
drop in performance which will encourage management ahead of the county league
in a fortnights time. Sean Quilter was one of the subs and he kicked 1-4 in the
second half, highlighting the depth in the panel and the huge competition for places.
Gavin Casey has started the season very strongly and again caught the eye with 0-3
from play and excellent link play all over the field from minute 1-60.
Overall a very solid team performance and very useful preparation for the busy
fixture schedule over the coming months.
