We are delighted to confirm that 8 teams will participate in this year’s annual Trevor Barrett Hurling Tournament taking place in Connolly Park on Saturday Aug 25th.

The competition will be run as a blitz style tournament – teams are 7 a side with 20 min games (10 minutes a half) . Unlimited substitutions during each game. We will update with fixtures and times as soon as the draws are made.
This Tournament is of course dedicated to the memory of Trevor Barrett who passed away after a short illness at the young age of 29 in April 2014. Trevor played both codes with the Club for many years. At one stage or another he played on all our three football teams – Senior, Junior B and Junior C. But Hurling was really his first love and he was an accomplished hurler. Over five seasons (2009-2013) he played a total of 84 games with The Hurlers, lining out in all six forward positions, though specializing in the No. 10 shirt. He was regularity one of the top scorers from play during each of those seasons, scoring some spectacular goals in the process. In season 2010, for example he was 2nd on the scoring list from play with a total of 7-21. The following year he was 3rd highest with 7-13 and in 2012 he clocked up a further 5-9. Never Forgotten. May he rest in peace.
