U18B All Ireland defeating Tyrone in the Final after extra time last Saturday in Tullamore FT Kerry 1-12 Tyrone 1-10. This weekend it’s the turn of her big sister Aoife who is a member of the Kerry Senior Ladies team contesting the TG4 Senior Championship All Ireland Final V Galway this Sunday Aug 2nd at 4.15pm in Croke Park. Girls Academy: Another successful Summer Camp took place in Connolly Park last week, well done to all the girls who participated. We hope you enjoyed the week and thanks to all our coaches and camp coordinators. Football for our U8s and 10s goes ahead this Wednesday. There will be no LGFA activity this weekend due to the Ladies All Ireland Final.
U12 Girls: This week in the Lee Strand Summer Go Games series we are away V Abbeydorney on Thursday July 30th at 6.30pm
U14 Girls: We will play a challenge game at home to Fr. Casey’s Abbeyfeale this Wednesday July 29th at 7pm.
U16 Girls:
We began our Co. League campaign last evening (Wed July 22nd) with an away game V Castleisland Desmonds. The home team started better than us but we gradually grew into the game and managed to reduce the deficit at half time to 2 points. Half time score was 2-4 to 1-5 in favour of Desmonds. We continued to gain a foothold on the game and in the 2nd half dominated for long spells. We added 3-8 and ran out eventual winners on a scoreline of Austin Stacks 5-12 to Castleisland 3-10. Team panel and scorers were, Arina Sauci, Ella O Sullivan, Eimear Kenny, Maria O’Connell, Chloe O’Halloran, Lucy Carey, Eve McEvoy, Shauna Quigley, Mary Gibbons, Aoibhinn Hennessy (0-1), Lauren Lawlor, Roisin Sheehy (1-0) Amelie O’Sullivan, (1-2) Ruth Dowling (1-2) Sofia Rybanska (1-3), Eve O’Regan, Malwina Jankowska, Debora Foley, Sophie Ferriter (0-1) Sophie Pigott, Mya Dennehy (1-3). Senior Ladies: The draw for this year’s Senior Ladies Intermediate Co. Championship has taken place. Fixtures as follows Rd. 1 Away V Cromane on Sunday Aug 16th, Rd. 2 home V Firies on Sunday Aug 23rd. QF fixed for September 13th.
