Seniors sign off with excellent victory over Legion

Austin Stacks rounded off their League Campaign in style with a Thirteen point victory Legion in a sun drenched Connolly Park this afternoon.

Stacks were quick out of the blocks with points from Ronan Carroll,Sean Heaslip,Ronan again & Fiachna Mangan after four  minutes of play.

Conor Horan had a brace of points one from a free making it a six point game.

David O’Sullivan had a Legion point their first aften twelve minutes followed by another from Thomas Moriarty which was to be their only scores of the first half.

Michael O’Donnell from a Jack O’Shea pass goaled after sixteen minutes followed by points from Ronan & Conor making the score 1-8 to 0-2.

Then we had the Carroll show with points from Ronan,Eoghan and Ronan again followed by a Gavin Casey goal his 1st in Div1 when he drilled in a low shot to the corner of net just before the interval.

Finbarr Murphy from a free had Legion’s opening point of the second half followed by a reply from Conor Horan after thirty seven minutes.

Cian Purcell pointed for Stacks and shortly afterwards Finbarr Murphy landed a two pointer for Legion making it 2-13 to 0-6.

Substitutes Jake Carmody and Paul O’Sullivan with a fisted effort increased Stacks lead before Peter McCarthy replied with a Legion point from a free.

Ronan Carroll with his sixth point of the game and Sean Og Brosnan with a fine effort got in on the act and a minute later Peter McCarthy replied for Legion.

Michael Tansley with a point from a forty five and David O’Sullivan had a Legion goal with four minutes left on the clock.

Debutant Sean Moynihan kicked a point and a Finan Blackwell effort closed out the scoring.
