PEIL FAOI 12: Eric Mason Blitz 2023: Best wishes to our 2011 boys (U12) who are eagerly looking forward to this Saturday’s (9th) football blitz in Ballymacelligott. It promises to be an action-packed day of exciting and competitive football. The day will open at 10am with a parade which will be led by Donncha Ó Raghallaigh, píobaire. The Rock’s first opposition, at 11am, will be Glanmire (Cork) and at 12.30pm the Black‘n’Amber boys will challenge the lads of the Fr Casey Club from Mainistir na Féile (Luimneach). Other teams taking part: Firies, Keel, Churchill, Mungret (Limerick) and, of course, the host club (Ballymac). The semi-finals and finals (Shield and Cup) will be played in the afternoon. This blitz is being organised by the Ballymac Club in memory of Eric Mason who passed to his eternal reward in 2011; ní raibh sé ach cúig bliana déag d’aois. This is the 10th blitz in Eric’s memory. It’s a special day for his family! Beannacht Dé lena anam. You’ll be part of a special occasion, boys!

AR SCOIL: Concentrate, listen, ask when unsure and learn while in school….and all will be well!

PEIL FAOI 13: (i) Training continues on Tuesdays and on Thursdays. How wonderful to see so many enthusiastic Rock boys in attendance at our training sessions. We’ll have a busy few weeks ahead of us, lads…..real challenges, tough competitions and exciting tournaments to put a great finish to our very successful 2023 season. A mid-autumn of exciting challenges! (ii) Our A team made the short trip to the Ahane Pitch on Monday last (4th) and played a great challenge game v Ballymac. Brilliant football by both teams! Well done, all! (iii) Our B team (Roinn 3) hosted Firies B in Connolly Park last week. A really impressive team performance delighted The Rock coaches as they plan ahead for the important upcoming Town League. (iv) Our B lads have been really looking forward to playing their remaining Town League fixtures v the Kerins-O’Rahilly Club and v Ballymac. A high standard of good flowing football is expected! Our boys, according to the ‘hurlers on the ditch,’ have a good chance making it to the final; they’ve had three wins in three games! (v) U13 Claregalway Tournament: We are looking forward to taking part in the inaugural U13 tournament i mBaile Chláir na Gaillimhe on Saturday 30th September. That will be a brilliant outing.
