The 1986 C Team who won that season’s Co. Championship (the Barrett Cup) was suitable honoured at a function in the Clubhouse last Saturday night. Most of the team were present as well as team Manager, Eddie Barrett who excellently organised the event. Also present was the then Club Chairman, now the Club President, Brendan Dowling. Two of the squad who have sadly passed away (David O’Lehane and Frankie Smyth) were remembered on the night as well as Terry McSweeney who is recovering from an illness (Terry was represented on the night by his wife, Helen). A surprise guest on the night was Joe Kernan who was in the Club to promote his new book which he launched earlier in the day at Easons Bookshop.
