With the bigger playing field this year at U-14 level we decided to do some fitness and conditioning sessions with the girls once a week. We completed our 2nd run on the Greenway last Friday night. We have had a very positive response to our ‘Movement Development and Injury Prevention’ activity 4-week programme, exclusive to the Austin Stacks U14 girls. The programme will take place from 6-7pm on Friday nights starting this Friday Feb 2nd and continuing on the 9th, 16th & 23rd at Kerry Sports Academy, MTU. Our thanks to Martina for organising this workshop for the girls.

Senior Ladies: Return to Training for our Senior Ladies Team – We’re back at the Austin Stacks Gym, S&C sessions at 7.15pm every Friday night. New and returning players very welcome. Contact 087 7925605
Gaelic 4 Mothers And Others: Austin Stacks LGFA will register a Gaelic 4 mothers and others team for 2024. This initiative is an innovative way to introduce mothers and other women to playing Ladies Gaelic Football. Mothers often drop their kids to training and call back to collect them, but the Ladies Gaelic Football Association wants to change that. The Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative sees women playing Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment. Gaelic4Mothers&Others provides an opportunity for women to get their recommended weekly exercise in a fun way while meeting other mothers in the area. The initiative has proved hugely popular with women of all ages and has taken off in all 32 counties with success stories popping up all over the country. There is one provincial blitz organised in each province every year and one national blitz day which have been a huge success with between 900 and 1000 mothers participating in the National Blitz Days each year. We hope to see plenty of former footballers as well as lots of new players who would like to give our Gaelic games a try (no experience necessary) in 2024! Anyone interested in participating can contact Melissa on (087) 792 5605
Congratulations: to our 3 dual players on their Kerry Camogie Team Panel 2024 selections; Jessica Leen (U16), Ciara Trant & Aoibhinn Hennessy (U14).

This Bank Holiday Monday (Feb 5th) the Kerry team will face Cork at 3pm in Austin Stack Park, Tralee, we encourage all our girls to go and support the Kerry ladies. If she can’t see it she can’t be it.
