This is a game to practise KOs.The conditions are:
1 point for a successful KO to the nearest zone.
2 points to the middle zone.
3 points for a successful KO to the 3rd zone/furthest from the goals.Basically we’re working on short, mid and long range KOs.I would play this as a small sided game like and 8v8 up to a 10v10.This game can benefit the defending team as well as they strategise when to give up the short KO (1 point), when they need to press to force a long etc.Normal rules after the KO.
Remember: Too many conditions or constraints on a game is not a good idea.
The condition on this game is ‘4 seconds on the ball u til halfway’. I hat I’m trying to accomplish here is that our players will move the ball as quick as possible out of our half. By limiting our plays, we can do this. The condition of 4 seconds on the ball will force the players to play it quickly.
There is no time constraint after halfway because I don’t want players to rush an opportunity or make a poor decision in the attacking half.
Basically, there are times when we are attacking when we will have to ‘build a score’.
